The cast
The world of the songs is a cinematic universe where Norse mythology meets contemporary culture, and it is set in Foteviken — a trading village on this coast. Stori and Reign are the duo and the two recurring characters. The rest of the cast are the people they live among: who holds the hall, who works the forge, who remembers the last famine.

Stori
A warrior, not a damsel. She swears the oath first, she rows the long crossings, and when the season calls for it the raid is hers.

What happens to them
The saga is told in five chapters — an oath sworn on a beach, a longship leaving a fjord, eleven days of deep water, a winter spent watching an empty horizon, and one that stands outside the story altogether. They are laid out in story order, which is not the order the records came out.
